Dr. Srinivas Reddy

srini headshot color1-2 Dr. Srinivas Reddy studied South Asian literature at Brown University and UC Berkeley with a focus on classical Sanskrit and Telugu literatures. He also trained as a classical sitarist in the guru-shishya parampara and has performed around the world. His research interests include classical Indian literature and music, translation and Vijayanagara history. He has published two books: Giver of the Worn Garland: Sri Krishnadevaraya’s Amuktamalyada (2010) and The Dancer and the King: Kalidasa’s Malavikagnimitram (2014).Srinivas has taught at UC Berkeley, Brown University, UMass Dartmouth, ISCTE Lisbon, and is currently Assistant Professor of South Asian Studies at IIT Gandhinagar.
